It looks like this now:
We stained the doors with Minwax Bombay Mahogany, Satin finish. Love this- has the polyurethane added into the stain.

They took forever, but it was so worth it. I love the contrast of the dark stain against the stark white oil-base trim. And it is wonderful to see the light come through the panes into our bedroom every morning.
You did such a beautiful job with staining the french doors. May I ask what you used to apply the stain ... was it a brush, sponge, or cloth?
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) We used a foam brush and did a light sanding between each coat, then wiped it down with tack cloth before reapplying the stain. We found that the foam left tiny air dimples in the first 2 coatings of stain, thus the sanding, but the application was smoother overall than we could get with a paintbrush.
